about

"Buy One, Get One Flea" is the 8th album from kindie pioneers Dog on Fleas. Lead by Grammy Award winning producer Dean Jones, the Fleas have been creating imaginative, inspiring, and unpredictable music for kids and families for 14 years. Using unusual instrumentation on well-written songs, played loosely with obvious abandon, Dog on Fleas have carved out a unique place in the history of children's music. The album will be released in early 2014.

Track Name: I Must Be a Genius
I must be a genius
I'll tell you why, I'll tell you why
I must be a genius
because I'm in love with you

I must be a genius
I'll tell you why, I'll tell you why
I must be be a genius
because you love me too

Every time I look in your eyes I'm reminded that I'm a genius
and every time I look in the mirror
I'm reminded that you're a genius too.
Yes it's true!
Track Name: Thinking Good Thoughts
Out with the bad/ in with the good 4x

my job is thinking good thoughts,

thinking good thoughts, thinking good thoughts

my job is thinking good thoughts

what’s your job gonna be?

think of something good, put it in your head

in the daytime and when you go to bed

that's your biggest job, to last your whole life through

what ever else might happen, to thine own self be true

chorus

look at the faces of people walking by

some are looking at the ground and some up to the sky

what makes someone think there's a cloud above their head?

why you wanna go through life feeling such dread

my job is your job. in fact it's our job

to do what we can. It's the perfect plan

keep hope in your mind as much of the time

as you can do. It's up to you

Out with the bad/ in with the good

We can't always be perfect and carefree

sometimes in your life you'll run into misery

what makes you think that you'll ever get through?

cause there's people thinking good thoughts all just for you

chorus
Track Name: Hinterlands
We're off to the hinterlands
Via the deep blue sea
We're off to the hinterlands
We'll keep the wind alee

I wanna go where I've never been before
where no one knows my name
When the night falls & the dolphins are calling
Out on the bounding main
Will you sing with the next refrain?

We're off to the hinterlands
Via the deep blue sea
We're off to the hinterlands
We'll keep the wind alee

Traveling light, and sailing all night
this ain't no ship of fools
There's you and there's me, and the parrot makes three
Charting an unknown course
We'll sing 'til our throats go hoarse

Could our lives possibly get any better
We're riding out the stormy weather
We sailed into the eye of the storm
Could it be…. that we are

off to the hinterlands
Via the deep blue sea
We're off to the hinterlands
Will you go with?
Will you go with?
Will you go with me?
Track Name: Herring's Head
Oh, what'll we do with the herring's head?
What'll we do with the herring's head?

We'll make it into loaves of bread,

Herrings head, loaves of bread,

and all manner of things.

Of all the fish that live in the sea,

the herring is the one for me.

How are ye the day? How are ye the day?

How are ye the day, me hinny-o?

Oh, what'll we do with the herring's fins ?
What'll we do with the herring's fins?

We'll make 'em into needles and pins

Herring's fins, needles and pins

Herring's head, loaves of bread,

and all manner of things.

Of all the fish that live in the sea,

the herring is the one for me.

How a ye the day? How a ye the day?

How a ye the day, me hinny-o?

Oh what'll we do with the herring's eyes?
What'll we do with the herring's eyes?

we'll make 'em in to puddings and pies

Herring's eyes, puddins and pies.

Herring's fins, needles and pins

Herring's head, loaves of bread,

and all manner of things.

Of all the fish that live in the sea, the herring is the one for me.

Oh what'll we do with a herring's tail? 2x

We'll put it on deck for a beautiful sail

Herring's tail. Beautiful sail

Herring's eyes, puddins and pies.

Herring's fins, needles and pins

Herring's head, loaves of bread,

and all manner of things.

Of all the fish that live in the sea,

the herring is the one for me.

What'll we do with the herring's guts 2x

We'll feed 'em to our favorite mutts

Herring's guts, feed 'em to mutts

Herring's tail. Beautiful sail

Herring's eyes, puddins and pies.

Herring's fins, needles and pins

Herring's head, loaves of bread, and all manner of things.
Track Name: Hundredaires
We’re hundredaires
Oh yes we've got a couple hundred bucks!
We're in luck my friends

We’re hundredaires
We got our ducks all lined up in a row
Enjoy the show…. Yesssss

We’re hundredaires

You’ve heard about the millionaires
You’ve heard about the billionaires
They’re out there in their yachts somewhere
They act as if they just don’t care

You’ve heard about the CEOS
They spend our GDP on clothes
They’re keeping track of every ounce
They kick us where it really counts

But we’re hundredaires
We got a lot of generosity
And that is why, you see

We’re hundredaires
We got our horses and they’re made of wood
Life is good my friends

We’re hundredaires

We’re loungin’ out here in the shade
I tell ya man we got it made
We’ll either barter or we’ll trade
No need to wait til we get paid

I’ll tell you, when the times get tough
Some people say they’ve had enough
Oh baby, that line’s such a snore
I couldn’t ask for any more

Cause we’re hundredaires
